Amid a rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape, a leading cloud-based identity solution provider identified a critical need to cultivate a security-first mindset across its top leaders. Recognizing the need to deepen leaders' knowledge and empathy for security incident response, the company sought to give leaders hands-on experience in navigating real-world cyber threats.

The Solution

Thoughtium worked closely with the company’s top security leaders to design and deliver a custom, multimedia security simulation experience—featuring immersive sensory elements, audio effects, custom videos, and a digital iPad based simulation tool— all modeled to recreate the chaotic and intense reality of a real-life security incident.

More than 150 VP+ worked in teams as they navigated through a series of immersive activities highlighting the key tensions and tradeoffs felt during a security incident. Leaders didn’t just witness the chaos of a security event—they lived it. 'Breaking news' alerts flashed, 'customer tickets' poured in, and the clock was ticking, creating an intense, high-pressure environment that fostered a deeper appreciation for the security team’s role.
