Presentation Designer & Marketing Associate

Thoughtium is seeking a creative and detail-oriented designer to join our team! This role will support our Senior Designer and work with internal stakeholders to create flawless presentation and visual assets that increase the overall impact of our team and our consulting services. We pride ourselves in designing and delivering great experiences to our clients, and this often includes the way our work is communicated in visual format. Additionally, this role will provide hands-on support with in-office activities, print material coordination, and digital marketing. Our office is located in the West Loop of Chicago. 

This role is ideal for a designer who is passionate about great layout and presentation design, thrives in the details of in-person materials preparation, and enjoys being hands on with tactical support.

You Will:

  • Spend the majority of your time (70%) in slide design bringing presentations to life. To be an effective Presentation Designer at Thoughtium, this means…

    • Create, redesign, and support Google Slides presentations across multiple projects, from internal updates to external workshop facilitation decks, always keeping Thoughtium’s and client brand guidelines top of mind. 

    • Understand the content of presentations and utilize best design practices to translate ideas into digestible and engaging layouts.

    • Be available to our team on-site for last-minute design consultations to ensure consistency of brand and design principles before work is sent out. 

    • Support our Senior Designer to develop and maintain presentation design systems and templates that empower our team to create and modify content with ease.

  • In addition to your design chops, you will support our team with on-the-ground marketing support (30%), such as: 

    • Materials Prep (15%): Coordinate and prepare print materials for workshops, including handouts, guides, and other in-office essentials for in-person experiences.

    • Tech for Livestream (10%): Set up and manage tech equipment for our weekly livestream events, ensuring an engaging and consistent experience for our audience.

    • Content Creation (5%): Snap behind-the-scenes moments, team highlights, and event snippets for Instagram/LinkedIn, showcasing the culture and daily life at Thoughtium.

You Have:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in graphic design

  • Strong skills in developing presentation assets using Google Slides; adept at communicating strategy, updates, and brand identity through slides

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, PowerPoint, Adobe, Canva, Social Media

  • A sharp eye for aesthetics and layout, with a knack for visually communicating complex information

  • Excellent attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to adapt quickly to feedback

  • A service orientation bringing energy and enthusiasm to support a cross-functional team

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience or interest in setting up AV equipment (preferred)

  • Experience with coordinating production for print materials (preferred)
